The Rock has confirmed the news
Dwayne Johnson, otherwise known as The Rock, otherwise known as a man you would not fight under any circumstances, has actually admitted that he might need to toughen up a bit.
What possibly could make those exact words come out of The Rock’s jabroni-punking mouth?
Another extremely hard individual, that’s what.
Luther and The Wire star Idris Elba has been confirmed as the central villain in the upcoming Fast and Furious spinoff Hobbs and Shaw, and, well, it is great news.
The film will also star Jason Statham and should see the franchise’s solid run of films continue if the confidence of The Rock himself is anything to go by.
I promised we were going to make this Fast & Furious spin off awesome and grow our franchise properly. He’s a bad man (legit bad ass). I better toughen up 👀😉 #HobbsAndShaw https://t.co/oERduIlTwz

The exciting stuff doesn’t stop there, either. Deadpool 2 director David Leitch will be at the helm and Fast and Furious creator has reportedly penned the script, which will see Johnson and Statham reprise their popular roles as special agent Luke Hobbs and criminal genius Deckard Shaw.
Despite their differences, the pair will apparently team up to take down a greater evil – the character player by Elba.
It’s a great casting choice in our eyes and clearly The Rock agrees, calling him a ‘legit bad ass’, surely the finest praise an individual can receive.
