We’re pretty sure Germany broke international football when they beat Brazil 7-1 at last year’s World Cup.
Since then, Iceland and Northern Ireland have qualified for their first ever European Championships, and even the Germans themselves have fallen to the Republic of Ireland.
But it’s not just Europe that is feeling the effects, as there were some big shocks in the South American qualifiers for the 2018 World Cup too.
With Brazil losing to 2-0 Chile in the absence of captain Neymar and a Messi-less Argentina also slumping to a 2-0 defeat in their game against Ecuador, down came one of the most ridiculous runs in world football.
Argentina and Brazil have lost on the same day for the first time since 27 May 1934 (World Cup in Italy). #WCQ #LaRoja #VamosTri
