Antoine Griezmann is a world champion, but he wants a little more
The Atletico Madrid man was an integral part of France’s World Cup-winning squad in Russia this summer, forming a cohesive attacking trio with Olivier Giroud and Kylian Mbappe to deliver Les Bleus just their second World Cup triumph.
Like the rest of France’s squad, Antoine Griezmann was handed a gold winners’ medal after their 4-2 victory against Croatia on July 15, but the 27-year-old feels a little short changed by that.
According to a report by RMC Sport, Griezmann would like the France side to receive NBA-style winners’ rings to commemorate their triumph in Russia.
Griezmann is a well-known fan of the NBA, and a super fan of Minnesota Timberwolves’ point guard Derrick Rose, so much so that he interrupted a post-World Cup final interview with Paul Pogba to simply say “I love Derrick Rose”, before blowing a kiss at the camera.

It has been reported that Griezmann has contacted the Los Angeles-based jeweler responsible for the Golden State Warriors’ 2017 NBA Finals rings, and that a proposal has been sent to the French Football Federation (FFF).
The cost of the rings is expected to be €12,000 each, which is quite a lot, but it’s not an unprecedented step.
In 2012, Didier Drogba spent approximately £800,000 buying rings for his Chelsea teammates after their Champions League final victory over Bayern Munich.
