It’s not been a great start to the season for Cesc Fabregas.
The Chelsea man has been decidedly off colour in the first few games of the Blues’ campaign, failing to provide the creative spark that the side so desperately needs.
It has led to accusations that he is nothing but a luxury player; a passenger when his attacking form deserts him. Certainly Jose Mourinho needs him to snap out of his current funk.
There was welcome relief away from the misery of Stamford Bridge when Fabregas made his 100th appearance for Spain against Ukraine on Monday night, becoming only the 11th player to reach the milestone.
Sadly for the hapless Cesc, he marked the occasion with a penalty miss – his fourth in four attempts for his country…

Although it has to be said that the Catalan wasn’t helped by some cheeky buggers pointing laser beams at his fraught features…
Poor Fabregas. Perhaps his fortunes will improve on Saturday against Aston Villa.
