R.I.P. the Queen of soul
It’s a sad day in the music world. Aretha Franklin has passed away at the age of 76.
Diagnosed with cancer back in 2010, and after announcing last year that she would be retiring from music, her publicist confirmed the news of her passing this afternoon.
BREAKING: Publicist for Aretha Franklin says the Queen of Soul died Thursday at her home in Detroit.

Franklin had one of the recognisable voices in American pop music, recording iconic all-time soul classics like “Respect”, “(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman”, and “I Say A Little Prayer”.
Understandably the world of music and entertainment has been hit hard with the news and the likes of Nile Rodgers, Liam Gallagher, Wretch 32, Hugh Jackman, Maverick Sabre and Ricky Martin have led the tributes via social media.

One of the highlights of my career was singing with #ArethaFranklin at The Tony Awards. It was an out of body experience for me. One of greatest singers of all time. You will be missed by all. https://t.co/L8dIIhyR9Y
