*puts hands to temples* “I’m getting the word…”
British comedian and Borat voice inventor Sacha Baron Cohen is being sued for $95 million (£73 million) in damages by US politician Roy Moore.
Former Alabama Senate candidate Moore claims he was “tricked” into appearing on Cohen’s latest show Who is America? as many have since the series aired on CBS, including a gun activist who voluntarily simulated giving Cohen oral sex with a dildo.
In the sketch, which Moore and his lawyers are citing as defamation, Cohen (in character as General Erran Morad, an ‘anti-terror expert’) waves the device over his own chest, and it is silent.
He then moves it across Roy Moore, causing the “nonce alarm” beeping sound to go off.
Cohen then repeatedly claims the “paedophile detector” must be faulty, whilst continuing to wave it around Moore and hear it beep, eventually causing him to leave the interview in a huff.

Moore was accused of by nine women of sexual misconduct during his race for the Alabama Senate last November. He was expected to win the seat in his home state of Alabama but lost to Democratic opponent Doug Jones.
He continues to deny the allegations.
