Manuel Pellegrini has confirmed that Sergio Aguero faces another month on the sidelines as he recovers from a hamstring injury sustained on international duty with Argentina.
The striker, who has been named on the Ballon d’Or short list, was in blistering from before his injury, scoring five goals in Manchester City’s 6-1 thrashing of Newcastle at the start of October.
“Aguero is out for a month. Maybe next week Clichy, Delph and Silva will be fit,” said Pellegrini, speaking before City’s Champions League fixture at home to Sevilla.
Answering a question about Aguero’s Ballon d’Or nomination, the manager added: “It’s not surprising that Sergio has been nominated for the Ballon d’Or. It is a surprise he has won nothing here in the past.”
