Spectre is breaking box office records – so will Daniel Craig want to go out on a high?

JOE

Spectre, the 24th James Bond film, has broken all-time box office records, which could influence Daniel Craig’s decision to return as the 007 spy.

The actor, who is contracted to one more outing as 007, is yet to confirm whether he’s going to return.

But with the news that Spectre has pulled in £41m in its first week, will he want to better it or go out on a high?

Records were also set in the Norway, the Netherlands, Finland and Denmark, with a total of $80.4m (£52.1m) made from all six released territories.

Skyfall, the previous Bond movie, was the highest-grossing 007 film in the franchise’s history, taking £700m ($1.1 bn) worldwide.

Jurassic World is the highest grossing film of this year bringing in more than £1bn worldwide. But is Spectre on course to match it once it opens in the US later this week?

“We’re so grateful to all our James Bond fans,” producers Michael G Wilson and Barbara Broccoli said.

We bet they are. Ker-ching!
