It’s fair to say that Cristiano Ronaldo and Jose Mourinho have not always seen eye to eye.
On occasions, their tenure as player and manager together at the Bernabeu was visibly and very publicly strained.
But in an exclusive interview with BT Sport, the Real Madrid star speaks extremely highly of his former boss.
“I would put him at the top, I always say that,” explains Ronaldo. “He’s a good coach, he did many good things and won many trophies for other clubs.”
Ever the diplomat, the 31-year-old is keen to stress he is looking to future with his current mentor, Rafael Benitez.
“My coach is now Benitez and I’m comfortable we are going to win many things together,” stressed the Portuguese.
