Today is the day!
Chancellor Rishi Sunak’s Eat Out (still can’t believe they’ve called it that) to Help Out scheme launches today. In essence, the government will put a maximum of £10 towards your food bill in participating restaurants, between Mondays and Wednesdays throughout August. It’s all part of the government’s attempt to kickstart a shrinking economy.
Is this prioritising economic growth over the health of the people, given the lack of a vaccine? I couldn’t possibly say. But yeah, probably.
Anyway, not every restaurant is participating in the campaign, but a lot of them are. For more information on the scheme click here.
And to find out which restaurants near you are taking part, click here, enter your postcode, and scroll down the list.
Bon appetit!
