Barcelona are all-conquering in La Liga.
The Catalan giants won the treble last season with the terrifying triumvirate of Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar scored a pant-wetting 122 goals between them last season.
How many of them picked up a Player of the Month award? None!
We’re not even sh*tting you.
It was the same scenario for October. Neymar and Suarez scored 11 goals between them during the month which saw them cement their place at the top of the league.
Did either of this illustrious pairing get the gong? Nope – it was awarded to Eibar’s Borja Baston.
When you look into it, you’ll be pretty amazed at how many of Barcelona’s galaxy of stars have scooped the monthly La Liga honour.
Not one of them has been considered the best player in Spain in any given month since the inception of the award in September 2013, according to the Telegraph. That’s a 26-month award-less streak for Barca.
What do these guys have to do? ‘All these goals, cups and titles are alright lads, but you’re really going to have to up your game.’
