Indie rock star Ariel Pink has been dropped by his record label after it emerged he attended the pro-Donald Trump rally in Washington on Wednesday.

Mexican Summer tweeted that they would stop working with the artist, real name Ariel Rosenberg, on Friday.

“Due to recent events, Mexican Summer and its staff have decided to end our working relationship with Ariel Rosenberg AKA Ariel Pink moving forward,” the label confirmed in a tweet.

Ariel Pink has confirmed that he attended the Donald Trump’s rally in front of The White House on Wednesday but says he left before Trump supports forced their way into the Capitol building.

Fellow indie musician John Maus, who has collaborated with Rosenberg, has also come under fire for attending the rally.

Ariel Pink has been recording music since the late 1990s, but came to prominence with his 2010 album Before Today, which was critically acclaimed upon its release.

He has collaborated with many well-known artists including Miley Cyrus, Charli XCX and Sky Ferreira.
