Only 3,000 cans of the drink will exist in the world
Cadbury’s Creme Eggs are the first sign of Easter. Like seeing tinsel at increasingly early points in the year, the sight of Creme Eggs on shop shelves are as good a reminder as any that, yes, Easter is once again on its way.
Now, though, there is a new way for you to consume your Creme Eggs – in the form of a beer.
That’s because Cadbury has partnered with brewery Goose Island to produce a beverage called Golden Goo-Beer-Lee Creme Stout. Rolls off the tongue, right?
This crossover has come about to celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of the Cadbury treat, and will see around 3,000 cans of the drink available for people to buy.
While it sounds unusual, the drink is essentially a sweet, creamy stout – so if that’s your cup of tea then you’ll probably be pretty keen on it.
It’s brewed with malted barley, oats, wheat and milk sugar, as well as cacao nibs and vanilla beans to recreate both the chocolate and fondant filling flavour of its inspiration.
The drinks, which are available from tomorrow on Goose Island’s website, come in two-packs that cost a tenner, and have an ABV of 4.5 percent.
If you can’t get your hands on any of the 3,000 cans going, you could melt try and make your own, but that’s probably not advisable, so try and get them while they’re around.
