Brendan Rodgers is taking a funny route to manage Charlie Austin.
The QPR striker was reportedly a top transfer target for Rodgers at Liverpool but he may yet get his hands on the young forward as odds have been slashed on Rodgers to be the next manager of Queens Park Rangers.
Rodgers is as short as 5/2 to take the Loftus Road hot-seat, having been as long as 14/1, so bookmakers are clearly expecting the former Reds boss to set up shop in Shepherd’s Bush.
Neil Warnock is currently in temporary charge of QPR after Chris Ramsey was sacked two weeks ago.
Rodgers was spotted in London last week, possibly for talks with QPR chairman Tony Fernandes, and his experience of bringing Swansea up to the Premier League in 2011 could play a major role as the Rs look for a new permanent manager to guide them towards promotion.
