Love Island’s Demi Jones has revealed that she has thyroid cancer
The 22-year-old reality TV star bravely told fans on social media this afternoon that the lump in her neck is thyroid cancer.
Last month, Demi underwent surgery to have the potentially cancerous lump removed from her neck.
She told fans in her Instagram story that she is now due to have more surgery to remove the rest of her thyroid.
Sharing the sad news on Instagram, Demi wrote: “Hi guys, I got my results today and unfortunately I have thyroid cancer.
“The tumour has been removed but I’m now due to have more surgery to remove the rest of my thyroid.
“I’m staying very positive and I’m a strong girl so I’ll be fine.
“Thank you for your love and support always. I’ll bounce back stronger.”
In the emotional story, she urged her 1.1 million followers to “check [their] lumps” after developing thyroid cancer.
The reality TV star previously shared a photo of her scar after her surgery.
