Labour MP Fleur Anderson has reported former Health Secretary Matt Hancock to the police for breaches of Covid restrictions.
According to the Metro, the Shadow Cabinet Office Minister has asked the Metropolitan Police to investigate the incident, with Hancock clearly breaking the coronavirus restrictions that he has been advocating and telling people to adhere to for the past year.
Families of Covid victims, who were unable to say goodbye to their dying loved ones, have also been demanding action against Hancock, with the rank hypocrisy of his actions being extremely difficult for many to deal with.
In a tweet, Fleur said: “Matt Hancock has resigned as Health Secretary. His position was absolutely untenable, but I must congratulate him on being the first Tory resignation in a while. It raises the question of what truly warrants a resignation – and who is next?”

Matt Hancock is of course the man who proudly stated that Covid rules and restrictions “are there for everyone,” after government adviser Professor Neil Ferguson was caught breaking lockdown rules to see a lover. After this incident, Hancock promised to support any police probe.

The Met has so far resisted pressure to open a criminal investigation though, saying that the Hancock’s behaviour was “a matter for the relevant government department.”
A spokeswoman said: “Where the Met receives allegations of breaches of the Health Protection Regulations 2020, we will focus on those that are live, or where police action can enable a change to behaviour that is posing a current public health risk.
“As a matter of course the MPS is not investigating Covid related issues retrospectively.”
