She had made the comments in an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live
Megan Fox has clarified comments she made describing Donald Trump as “a legend,” after revealing that she sat on the same row as him at UFC 264.
Appearing on Jimmy Kimmel’s chat show, the actress said: “I was in a row with Bieber, and Trump was also in my row. He had, like, 30 secret service with him.
“He was a legend. That arena was very supportive of Trump when he came in.”
She continued: “I was like, I don’t know how I feel about it, because if someone is a target, then I’m like, I could be harmed because I’m adjacent to where he is. So I was worried about my own safety, that’s all I was caring about. But yeah, I’ve never seen anything like that before. It was crazy.”
Fox has now insisted that she “never said Donald Trump is a legend”.
In a post on Instagram, the 35-year-old wrote: “Uhmmm…Â I do not align myself with any political party or individual politicians.
“I never said Donald Trump is a legend. I said he was a legend….in that arena (key part of thesentence.)
“The arena was filled with UFC fight fans. Many of them clearly Republican, based off the insane crowd reaction he received walking into the T-Mobile venue.
“That was an observable fact,” she added. “Not my opinion.”
She went on to criticise the backlash her comments had received, writing that she was “really loving this mid-evil [sic], pitch fork carrying, burn a witch at the stake mentality though.”
Megan Fox claimed in her Instagram story that she never called Trump a legend.Fox had been present at UFC 264 along with Trump and a host of other celebs, watching McGregor lose his trilogy fight with Dustin Poirier after breaking his leg at the end of the first round.
