As Arsenal fans will gladly tell you Wojciech Szczesny isn’t always the best at decision-making, and the keeper perhaps misjudged the mood following Roma’s 6-1 thrashing against Barcelona on Tuesday.
The Poland international, who’s on loan for the season in Rome, lauded Barca’s quality in his post-match interview saying they were “beautiful to watch”.
That’s probably the last thing Roma supporters wanted to hear after a humiliating performance.
“It was beautiful to watch because we played against a team from another planet,” Szczesny told BT Sport.
“I was in goal playing for Roma, but I appreciated what I saw from Barcelona. They were ridiculously good. As hard as it is to lose a game 6-1, it was beautiful to watch.”
At least he’s honest, we suppose…
