Pep Guardiola ‘will be the next Man City manager’ Spanish radio reports

Ben Kenyon

There has been much speculation over the future of Pep Guardiola.

It’s no secret that probably every top club in the Premier League has been keeping tabs on the Bayern Munich boss.

The former Barcelona man has already been linked with Jose Mourinho’s job at Chelsea and speculation has been rife about him replacing Manuel Pellegrini at Man City.

Now Cadena COPE are reporting that the Etihad will be the destination for the Spaniard next season.

Guardiola, who won a record six trophies with Barcelona in 2009, is expected to leave Bayern at the end of the season when his contract runs out after three years at the Bavarian giants.

Rumours are that managing in the Premier League is on top of Guardiola’s list and with his connections with Txiki Begiristain and Ferran Soriano from his Barca days, City would appear to be the obvious destination for him.

It follows reports that Man City are launching an audacious £120m bid for Lionel Messi in The Sun which claims Messi is open to a £800,000-a-week deal at the Manchester club.
