Tomás ‘Tomii 11’ Blanche was best known for his Minecraft videos and life updates
Chilean YouTuber Tomás ‘Tomii 11′ Blanch has passed away from a brain tumour, his family has confirmed. Best known for his Minecraft videos and life updates, Tomás had amassed over eight million subscribers.
In April, Tomás posted a video saying it was his dream to become a Youtuber. Thanks to other content creators and his steadily growing fanbase, Tomás gained 3.4 million subscribers in just seven days. And within the month he broke the record for the highest organic growth in YouTube history.
“I hope they don’t make fun of me, it’s a test video,” Tomás wrote in his first video, where he can be seen dancing.
In another video, Tomás said: “I like animals of all kinds. I like chubis, Christmas and school.”
Tomás’ family confirmed his passing on August 30, with his uncle Alejandro Blanch telling Chilean publication Meganoticias that the family was completely “dismayed”.

“My brother and my sister-in-law are devastated,” he said. “We believe that it has really been a kind of sweet and sour. He has won all the awards. He only wanted to tell his story of daily life, his horses, chicks, and cats on his YouTube channel. It was very moving.”
Besides the plaques from Youtube to celebrate his growth, Tomás also won “Copihue de Oro” in the “YouTuber of the Year” category and the Giga Award for “Best YouTube Account”.

Fans have expressed their sadness on social media.
“I am very sorry and it makes me want to cry for this beautiful boy who gave us funny moments with his videos. A great youtuber with few videos but high-quality @ and content. I hope that one day your story will be known with a movie, series,” writes one fan.
Another fan tweeted: “My heart broke when I found out about Tomiii 11, how unfair life is … Rest in peace little one.”
