Tensions flared as violence broke out
Climate protestors, Insulate Britain, have sparked huge delays after staging their sit-in across multiple parts of the M25 motorway.
It is believed that 30 people have now been arrested after the climate protestors – organised ahead of COP26 (the UN’s upcoming climate conference) – held up the major stretch of UK motorway.

A select group of drivers on Junction 20 of the M25 which leads to a busy A road decided to try and take matters into their own hands, getting out of their cars and attempting to manhandle protestors off the tarmac.
The following clip is one of a number of videos which show where the climate crisis demonstration has sparked violence as commuters, truck drivers and the rest of civilian traffic were desperate for normal service to resume.

In another clip, you can see what LBC described as an “extraordinarily dangerous” phase of the protests as they sat along a major chunk of the motorway itself.
The UK has seen similar protests from adjacent climate activism group, Extinction Rebellion, over the past couple of years.
In this tweet responding to the demonstration, you can see the moment the climate protesters waited until the traffic lights changed and stepped out into the traffic.
Anybody else sick of these people that are constantly disrupting lives?
Whether it’s Insulate Britain or Extinction Rebellion, what they do is wrong. I certainly can’t see how it’s helping any cause. pic.twitter.com/kDoQNnQ5uB
