“He got beat fair and square and that’s all she wrote for Deontay Wilder.”
Tyson Fury has defended his choice of gloves after Deontay Wilder complained about his decision before he suffered defeat to the ‘Gypsy King.’
Wilder was stopped in the 11th round after Fury floored him to take a deserved win in the third and final of their trilogy of fights. The defeat saw Wilder taken to hospital after the knock out, but the American wasn’t happy in the run up to the fight.
The ‘Bronze Bomber’ and his team raised the issue the night before the fight, questioning the use of horse hair in Fury’s gloves, suggesting that by being able to alter the padding in his gloves, Fury had unfair advantage.
No wonder there was delay
Deontay Wilder demanded Tyson Fury’s gloves were cut open just hours before the fight.

When quizzed about his gloves, Fury duly responded and labelled Wilder as a ‘sore loser.’
He said: “I’m sure he’ll have a lot of excuses to make, he always does, he’s a sore loser.
“He had Everlast MX on, I had Paffen Sport on, the gloves were the same.
“His trainers were in the changing room yet again [for the pre-fight hand wrapping], they checked everything, there were no queries.
“He got beat fair and square and that’s all she wrote for Deontay Wilder. I’ll be surprised if he boxes ever again.”
Fury meanwhile had his own issue with Wilder, claiming that he showed a lack of “sportsmanship” when he came over to speak to the Alabama-born boxer.
He said: “He’s got no love for me, Deontay Wilder, because you know why, because I beat him three times. I’m a sportsman. I went over to him to show some love and respect and he didn’t want to give it back. That’s his problem.”
“I just said well done and he said, ‘I don’t want to show any sportsmanship or respect.’ I said, ‘No problem.’
“Very surprised. Sore loser, an idiot.”
