There’s just one thing Mariah needs this Christmas: to re-enter the charts unbelievably early and kick start the festive season…
JOE officially declares Christmas OPEN as Mariah Carey and her iconic Christmas hit ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You’ has re-entered the charts.
On November 1, the @chartdata Twitter handle confirmed the news with a tweet which read: “.@MariahCarey‘s “All I Want For Christmas Is You” has re-entered the top 200 on US iTunes.”
Thousands have already responded to the least-surprising news of the year.
“YESSSIRRR ITS OFFICIALLY CHRISTMAS TIME,” wrote one user, while another said: “The way she literally owns Christmas it’s so crazy.”
Another wrote: “The queen of Christmas is back.”

Carey’s single climbing the charts every Christmas is such an expected part of the festive season that it’s even birthed a joke that suggests the singer gets “defrosted” every Halloween, ready for Christmas again that year.

‘All I Want for Christmas Is You’ was first released in 1994 and was co-written and co-produced by the star herself.
It remains the singer’s biggest international single and has reached the top of the charts in 26 countries worldwide.
It is estimated that the single has sold more than 17 million copies across the world, making it one of the biggest-selling singles ever.
More recently, the single came second on the UK Christmas singles chart in 2017, 2018 and 2019. In 2020, 26 years after its initial release, the song topped the UK singles chart for Christmas for the first time.
Plus, it’s keeping Carey in expensive festive-themed outfits. According to Priceonomics, since its release in 1994 the track has accumulated $50m in royalties.
