Former England footballer Stan Collymore has decided to join the Scottish National Party after it voted against launching air strikes in Syria.
Disapproving of the fact that many Labour MPs were voting in favour of the action, Collymore announced he had left the Labour Party just months after rejoining – and asked if it was possible for him to join the SNP.
Only rejoined Labour a couple of months ago. Have to cancel again now. Can an Englishman join the SNP?

Minutes later, the 44-year-old tweeted a screenshot to show that he’d joined.
Done. No more Tories infiltrating the grand old party of working people anymore. Time to change. pic.twitter.com/cYSz4KHYPQ

After accusing the Labour Party of being infiltrated by Tories, the pundit claimed that it was time for change.
Predictably, his decison to join SNP provoked a mixed response on Twitter…
@StanCollymore you just won the internet with that snp tweet, well done that man, you just gained a new follower

@StanCollymore Big respect Stan, at least there are a few principled people left in this world! Disgusted with Labour party over Syria
