Fury vs Klitschko II: Your verdict on the 2016 rematch

Everyone is divided about it!

Nooruddean Choudry

Wladimir Klitschko announced he is taking up his option for a rematch with world heavyweight champ Tyson Fury.

Fury wants the fight at Wembley and his camp say believe it could bring a £50m payday.

But as ever with Fury – and Klitschko for that matter – opinion is divided right down the middle about a re-run of the tactical battle which played out in Germany.

Many feel that the Briton’s victory heralds a new era in boxing’s prestige division, whilst others feel the Ukrainian powerhouse is far from finished.

As ever you have not been backward in coming forward with your strong views, and we’re always delighted to know your views on the big stories. As such, let’s take a look at just a few of the responses we received about the big rematch.

George Holloway feels a second bout is somewhat redundant…

‘Fury won the match fair and square, I don’t understand why a rematch is necessary, tyson will win again.’

Nick Tash is similarly unimpressed…

‘Why is there even a rematch? Fury said before the fight he wants his belts so klitch retires. Now we told its in the contract to fight again. It’s one big farce for money. F*ck off. Thanks’

Craig Woodward isn’t exactly waiting with baited breath…

‘Well either way a lot of people won’t watch it after the piss poor showing last time biggest waste of people’s money ever almost as bad as Haye v Harrison’

Chris Banks on the other hand feels a rematch promises much…

‘Klitscho will have nothing to lose. He’ll be all out aggressive next time with Fury on the back foot. It’ll be a quick but exciting fight.’

Ste Cooper is on a very similar page and can’t wait…

‘I think the rematch will be miles better, if a Tyson Fury with nothing to lose was that good how about vlad with nothing to lose? Can see him throwing bombs’

Whilst Sean McReynolds believes that people have skewed expectations…

‘F*ck it annoys me everyone saying it was a sh*te fight, we always aren’t going to see two men go at it for 12 rounds, rarely happens, fighters go in with a plan they don’t care if it’s boring for the fans, all they care about is winning and will do anything to get the victory’

Sven Heuchert is one of many who feels the Ukrainian will wreak vengeance…

‘Fury got in Klits head pretty good and mindf*cked him all the way. Next time it will be different. I hate the way Klitschko had boxed over the last decade, but Fury has no talent either: no technique, no punch, no nothing. AJ all the way.’

Craig John Rogers isn’t so sure…

‘Klit will have to Fight in England!! Will sh*t himself even more this time! 2-0 Fury!’

Meanwhile, Kate Lacey wants Klitschko to triumph, but fears Fury actually willl…

‘Would love Klitschco to win but think Fury will win. I honestly cannot stand that man. He is such a cocky d*ckhead.’

James Wilkins is another who doubts the Ukrainian’s chances…

‘Seen nothing in the first fight to suggest Klitschko will win the rematch. Let’s get it over and done with so we can watch newer and more exciting fights . A unification fight with Wilder and eventually AJ fighting the winner of that.’

‘AJ’ is of course the current WBC International and Commonwealth heavyweight champion, Anthony Joshua. Many namecheck the Watford Warrior as a third name in the equation.

James Abel is certainly a fan…

‘Let AJ fight Klitschko and then let the winner fight Tyson Fury – that would put more bums on seats for a eventual Fury fight.’

Theo Campbell concurs wholeheartedly…

‘Why waste time when we can watch Anthony Joshua knockout Fury then instead?’

John Walker also rates Joshua, but thinks the competition is poor…

‘Haye and Joshua would be a better fight, both would beat Tyson and klitch, poor division at the moment sorry to say.’

Robert Hall is perhaps the voice of reason…

‘The amount of people saying how the fight was boring or fury will lose. Yet are all over the AJ hype train, even though we’ve been forced to watch him fight part timers.

‘Fury is the heavyweight champion of the world, rematching the former heavyweight champion of the world who held the belts for over a decade. It’s a massive fight, that deserves to sell out.

‘And tyson deserves everyone’s support. He doesn’t have the AJ hype train, he’s grafted hard to get his shot, and he took it. When all others had failed.

‘I for one enjoyed watching Fury outbox Klitschko. He’s entertaining in and out the ring and I hope he wins the rematch and keeps representing for Britain. The only ever British undefeated heavyweight champion of the world.

‘AJ’s time will come so let’s be quiet about him, and no one dare mention the bottle job David Haye.’
