The arrest was made after a woman’s body was found on Tuesday

A 24-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder following the disappearance of 18-year-old Bobbi-Anne McLeod.

Cody Ackland, from Southway, Plymouth, has been remanded in custody by Devon and Cornwall Police and is due to appear in Plymouth Magistrates’ Court on Friday morning (November 26).

Ackland was arrested in connection with the 18-year-old who went missing on Saturday November 20. Just a few days later on Tuesday November 23, a female body was found on Devon’s Bovisand Beach. It is yet to be confirmed whether the body is in fact Bobbi-Anne.

A man was previously arrested over her disappearance earlier this week but has since been released after police said there was “no known link” between the two.

Crime scene investigators carried out a ‘fingertip search’ around the bus stop where she was last spotted; the teen was on her way to meet her boyfriend in Plymouth city centre and after she didn’t turn up, her partner alerted her family and authorities.

A candlelight vigil was held near the spot where she was last seen on Thursday and another will take place later tonight at around 6pm. Hundreds have already gathered to lay flowers and pray for her safe return.

Candlelit Vigil Held For Bobbi-Anne McLeod

This comes on the same morning that four boys aged 13-15 were arrested over the death of Ava White, a 12-year-old who was stabbed during an incident in Liverpool city centre.
