The US actor and comedian Bob Saget, best known for starring in the sitcom Full House, has died aged 65.
The actor was found unresponsive by staff in his room at a hotel in Florida on Saturday.
In a tweet confirming the news, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office wrote: “Earlier today, deputies were called to the Ritz-Carlton Orlando, Grande Lakes for a call about an unresponsive man in a hotel room,” the police service explained.
“The man was identified as Robert Saget & pronounced deceased on scene. Detectives found no signs of foul play or drug use in this case.”

His family said in a statement, via the BBC: “We are devastated to confirm that our beloved Bob passed away today.
“He was everything to us and we want you to know how much he loved his fans, performing live and bringing people from all walks of life together with laughter.”
He had performed as recently as Saturday, having just started a new comedy tour across the US.

After the show, he had taken to Instagram to express his happiness at being back on stage, writing: “I’m back in comedy like I was when I was 26. I guess I’m finding my new voice and loving every moment of it.”

Saget was best known for his role in the sitcom, Full House, in which he played Danny Tanner, a widowed father of three daughters, from 1987 to 1995.
He then reprised the role in 2016 when Netflix revived the show.
In recent years he became well known amongst younger audiences as the narrator on How I Met Your Mother and for his guest appearances on the series Entourage, in which he played a fictionalised version of himself.
Figures from across the world of entertainment and comedy have paid tribute to the Saget.
Whoopi Goldberg said he had a “huge heart and abject lunacy”, whilst former Daily Show host Jon Stewart called Saget “just the funniest and nicest” in a tweet on Sunday.

And comedian Judd Apatow said: “Bob Saget was so kind and when you spent time with him he made you laugh hard. He loved to be funny and he was hysterical. He was also there for everyone. A beautiful soul.”
