Jamie Vardy could be rewarded with a statue for his goal scoring record

Simon Lloyd

Since breaking the Premier League record for scoring in consecutive games, there’s been lots written and said about Leicester’s Jamie Vardy.

His rise from Stockbridge Park Steels to one of the hottest strikers on the planet has already generated rumours of the likes of Zac Efron playing him in a hollywood film (honestly).

But while talk of Jamie Vardy – The Movie appears to have died down (for now), it seems some Leicester supporters are keen to reward his goalscoring by chipping in towards his very own statue.

One supporter has set up a petition and is urging fellow fans to sign it.

Although some of the wording might imply it’s not to be taken too seriously, the petition states a willingness to contribute £10,000, so long as Leicester City cover any further costs of erecting ‘one of the most prized statues of the modern footballing era.’
