The Queen was diagnosed with the virus on Sunday

The Queen has cancelled her planned virtual engagements on Tuesday as she is still experiencing mild cold-like symptoms following her recent covid-19 infection.

A Buckingham Palace spokesperson said: “As Her Majesty is experiencing mild cold-like symptoms she has decided not to undertake her planned virtual engagements today, but will continue with light duties.”

A decision is to be made on her engagements for later in the week closer to the time. This includes her weekly conversation with the prime minister.

When the news of Her Majesty’s diagnosis was announced, the palace had said she would be continuing to undertake her engagements.

At the time, Buckingham Palace said: “Her Majesty is experiencing mild cold-like symptoms but expects to continue light duties at Windsor over the coming week.

“She will continue to receive medical attention and will follow all the appropriate guidelines.”

The announcement came after Prince Charles tested positive for the virus on 10 February, the second time he had caught Covid.

According to the Independent, a number of people have reportedly tested positive at Windsor Castle where the Queen lives.
