Paddy Pimblett’s current UFC contract has raised a few eyebrows
Paddy Pimblett has revealed his purse following his victory over Kazula Vargas via submission in the first round at UFC London last Saturday night.
‘The Baddy’ was one of the UFC’s biggest draws at their record-breaking $4.5m gate at the sold-out O2 Arena, which was the biggest in the venue’s history.

Pimblett’s contract paid out $24,000 (£18,000) following his first-round victory. UFC purses are concealed from the public, but fighters are allowed to disclose their pay if they wish to do so.
The terms of the Liverpudlian’s contract were $12,000 (£9,000) to fight and $12,000 to win. The 27-year-old’s modest pay check gave an insight into the issue of fighter pay that currently exists in the UFC.
“12 and 12,” Pimblett told Barstool Sports.
“No, yeah, 12 and 12, so 12 to show, and 12 to win.”
The UFC lightweight did, however, receive a $50,000 (£38,000) bonus for his finish of Vargas, which brought his total purse to $74,000 (£56,000).

Pimblett is a rising star in the UFC
Pimblett has won both of his fights in the UFC so far and is considered a rising star in the MMA world. His presence on the card at UFC London also helped promote the event.
However, the fighter’s status and popularity are yet to be reflected in his pay package.
Despite this, Pimblett has said that he knew what he was getting into when he signed his current UFC contract in 2021 and that if the organisation want to offer him a new deal, he would speak with them.

“It goes up after every fight,” Pimblett said.
“But you’re in a contract, so it’s whenever they want to offer me a new one, they offer me a new one.
“So it’s just one of those things.”
Dana White on Pimblett’s career so far
Dana White described Pimblett as “the real deal” following his first-round stoppage at UFC London.
The UFC president tipped ‘The Baddy’ to headline a Fight Night next and noted the impact Pimblett has made on social media.
“His numbers say yes, he could headline a Fight Night (next),” White said.
“I’ll give you an example. On my Instagram, I posted the faceoffs yesterday for the heavyweight fight (Aspinall vs. Volkov). Did 120,000 views.
“Paddy’s faceoff did 1.3 million. So all the talk going into the fight about his walkout and all this s**t, listen, it’s real.”
The UFC president handed out a record nine post-fight bonuses for UFC London at The O2 Arena.
