Louis van Gaal’s latest quotes won’t do much to encourage Manchester United fans

Louis van Gaal has told Manchester United supporters there is no quick fix to the team’s poor form as he holds on under immense pressure at Old Trafford.

United have dropped to sixth in the table during a run of six Premier League matches without a victory, and the club’s title hopes appear to be all but over.

But ahead of Saturday’s meeting with Swansea – who Van Gaal has lost against in all three meetings so far – the Dutchman said: “There is no magic, it is looking at what has happened and what can improve, as a team and individually.

“I have lost three times against Swansea, and then you have to evaluate why you lost. It is always like that, then you continue with the same vicious circle of working.

“You make a game plan to beat your opponent and then you have to convince your players. Then you have to train and then you have to be convinced. Then you can be committed and try to perform it.”

Despite talk of Van Gaal leaving in the near future if results don’t improve, the gossip columns say the manager will be backed with money to spend in January.
