Steven Gerrard has revealed the details of his conversations with Jurgen Klopp when he returned to Liverpool to keep fitĀ over the MLS winter break.

The former Reds captain is expected to retire at the end of the 2016 season with LA Galaxy, and his thoughts are turning to his next move.

And, in an interview with theĀ Liverpool Echo, Gerrard said LiverpoolĀ have expressed an interest in him coming back to the club in a coaching capacity.

“I have had a chat with [Jurgen] Klopp.

“I havenā€™t had an offer as such, but the club have let me know they are keen for me to come back.

“There hasnā€™t been a conversation where they have said: ā€˜we want you to do this, we want you to do thatā€™. But they have welcomed me back in.”

Gerrard says his coaching badges will beĀ 75% doneĀ when he returns in November, although it’s thought he’ll still be contracted to do punditry work for BT Sport.
