Few people are better placed to offer Pep Guardiola advice on moving to England than Jurgen Klopp.
The Liverpool manager has first-hand experience of arriving in the Premier League from the Bundesliga, and attempting to instil his own personal philosophy to a high-profile club.
And he has shown his collegial side by giving the England-bound Catalan a few heads-up about life in Blighty.
“The number of games is the biggest difference,” said Klopp. “When I came here, I didn’t know there were two rounds [legs] in the semi-final of the Capital One Cup.”
“I had people in Germany, saying: ‘Yeah, you’re in the final again!'” said the Liverpool manager following his first leg victory over Stoke City. “Idiots!”
“That’s the thing, it’s the number of games… football, football, football.”
But it’s not all bad. Although Klopp admits the weather is “not great”, he does semi-praise the English cuisine as “much better than everybody said.”
Woo-hoo! Our grub is less awful than advertised!
