The iPhone 7 could have new tech 100 times faster than WiFi

Someone spotted this clue in a tiny piece of code...

Apple have given us a glimpse into the future of iPhones completely by accident.

Tech developer Chase Fromm spotted a clue in a tiny piece of code that suggests the new iPhone might have new cutting edge LiFi technology capabilities.

LiFi is the next generation of WiFi which can transmit information up to 100 times faster and works through light waves rather than radio waves.

You could literally download a full film in HD on your phone in seconds.

The snippet of code was found in buried in Apple’s iOS 9.1 update which was rolled out in October, according to the Daily Mirror.

There is a clear line which reads ‘LiFi Capabilities’, suggesting the emerging technology, which can theoretically transmit data at a staggering 224G per second , will feature in future phones.

The bad news is that British researchers are still working on the LiFi technology to make it realiable and functional.

Because it travels through direct beams of light, the signal cannot pass through walls and has to be 3m from a transmitter.

But it is believe the technology may be operational within the next few years.
