It’s official – Harry Shearer is leaving The Simpsons…
The voice of Mr Burns, Ned Flanders, Principal Skinner, and many others, announced on Twitter on Wednesday that he would no longer be part of the longest running animated series in history.
His reasons for leaving hint at contract difficulties for the 27th and 28th seasons of the show…

Dan Castellaneta, Julie Kavner, Nancy Cartwright, Yeardley Smith and Hank Azaria have all agreed to do two more years of the show, but Shearer’s decision marks the most significant loss of a cast member since it began in 1989.
Poor Smithers…
