Michael Owen’s commentary career has never really reached the same heights as his playing career.
During his time at Liverpool, Owen was so damn popular that he didn’t only have his own cereal, he had his own bloody TV show.
But perhaps the title of Hero to Zero should have tipped us off about the struggles that would come not just on field after leaving Anfield, but also in his broadcasting career.
The former England international has come under repeated criticism for his blindingly obvious observations when commentating for BT Sport, and it seems Owen delivered another gem during Leicester’s 3-1 defeat of Manchester City.
Great punditry by Michael Owen again "Leicester have scored the first goal, which means they are 1-0 up. If it stays like this – they win."
