Barcelona have been crowned La Liga champions for the second time in three years after beating Atletico Madrid 1-0 at the Vicente Calderon.
Atletico managed a 1-1 draw at the Camp Nou on the final day of last season to win the title, but this time Lionel Messi’s second-half strike proved the difference between the two teams to gain glory for Barça.
Elsewhere, Cristiano Ronaldo’s hat-trick helped Real Madrid to a 4-1 win at Espanyol, but it was too little, too late for Carlo Ancelotti’s side.
Barcelona can now look forward to their Champions League final meeting with Juventus, which takes place in Berlin on June 6.
