Ahead of Real Madrid’s Champions League encounter with Roma, Cristiano Ronaldo made an interesting revelation about his time at Manchester United.
Asked if he was close to Real team-mates Karim Benzema or Gareth Bale, Ronaldo reasoned that he does not need to be friends with the men he plays with. All he cares about is that they win together.
To prove this, Ronaldo stated that he barely spoke to Rio Ferdinand, Ryan Giggs or Paul Scholes during the Champions League-winning 2007/08 season.
Ferdinand was informed of his former team-mate’s words during the BT Sport coverage of Chelsea defeat to PSG on Tuesday night. The former England international seemed devastated:
