You’ll want to watch the enthralling Sports Illustrated documentary on Conor McGregor

Unfiltered

JOE

Take all the belts, take all the money then ride into the sunset back in Dublin.

That’s the ultimate goal according to Conor McGregor in Sports Illustrated’s fascinating new documentary on the UFC star.

Unfiltered is a short film which follows the featherweight champion as he prepares for UFC 196 in his hometown of Dublin. The stylised documentary features interviews with UFC president Dana White, SBG head coach John Kavanagh, and of course the Notorious himself.

There are some great nuggets of info on how White ended up signing McGregor, as well as Kavanagh giving some background on the flag McGregor has taken into the Octagon for every one of his UFC fights.

However, it’s McGregor who unsurprisingly takes centre stage.

Perhaps what’s most prevalent is McGregor’s love of his hometown. The cameras follow him around Dublin as he takes time to pose for photos and sign autographs for well-wishers and fans. It’s clear that he has an appreciation for his supporters and a deep connection to the city.

“I f*cking love this place. I’ll never leave this place ever in my life. This is my home. I go to the US for that sweet cheque and then I high-tail it back here to be with my own people.”
