Maybe this explains why the fight was a bit of snooze-fest.
Scott Quigg fought eight rounds of his super-bantamweight title bout against Carl Frampton with a broken jaw, according to his promoter Eddie Hearn.
The Manchester boxer, who lost the fight, and his WBA belt, on a split decision, reportedly had his jaw broke by Frampton in the fourth round with an uppercut, and underwent surgery on Sunday morning.

Quigg was consoled by Wayne Rooney in his dressing room following the bout, and the Manchester United captain told him “chin up”, to which the 27 replied “I’ll have to straighten it first.”

There was a lot of praise for Quigg for fighting on despite suffering such a debilitating injury.
Reports Scott Quigg has broken jaw. Frampton's 4th round upper cut did the damage… but he fought on another 8 rounds 👏 #FramptonQuigg

No excuses, but what balls @scottquigg has shown fighting for the last 8 rounds with that broken jaw. Tough little bastard x

However, it arguably raises questions over why his corner didn’t pull him from the fight.
If Scott Quigg did fight for eight rounds with a broken jaw, his corner and medical team need to take a long, hard look at themselves.
