Customers are being urged to return products for a refund
Four UK supermarkets have issued ‘do not eat’ warnings on several products that may be unsafe for consumption.
The Food Standards Agency has alerted consumers about a variety of popular food items in recent weeks, urging customers to return the products in exchange for a full refund.
Tesco, Asda, Sainsbury’s and Lidl have been affected by the recall.
Some items have been removed from shelves due to unlisted ingredients, while others are said to possibly contain small pieces of metal or ‘foreign bodies’.
The Isle of Wight Meat Company is recalling several Isle of Wight Meat Co Biltong products because they were produced without the necessary approval.
The products affected are: Isle of Wight Meat Co Biltong Original, Sweet Chilli, Garlic and Black Pepper with best before dates up to and including May 2025.
The FSA warned: “If you have bought any of the above products do not eat them. Instead, please take a photograph of the packets, destroy them and email orders@chevertonfarm.co.uk with the photograph for a full refund. Leo’s Import Export & Trading Ltd is recalling Buram Nuts in Syrup due to potential foreign bodies with the FSA warning that the product also contains apricot kernels which can release hydrogen cyanide making it unsafe to eat.
The 420g pack size of Buram Cerezli Nuts in Syrup, with all date codes, have been recalled with the FSA urging consumers to return to point of purchase.
Johnston Mooney & O’Brien is also recalling a number of baked goods due to the potential presence of small metal fragments rendering them unsafe for consumption.
The bakery apologised for the inconvenience and assured customers it was committed to delivering products with a high quality and safety standards.
