As we’re sure you remember, one of the main flashpoints of the first Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz press conference surrounded the issue of steroids.
Diaz accused his Irish opponent of juicing, something to which ‘The Notorious’ didn’t take too kindly, to say the least.
Since that incident, Diaz’s coach and UFC president Dana White have both had their say on the allegations.
And now it is the turn of John Kavanagh, McGregor’s long-time coach, to respond to the Californian’s very serious claim.
‘It was particularly baffling for me to observe the accusations of performance-enhancing drug-use that Nate threw at Conor,’ Kavanagh writes in his column for The42.
‘Considering that a couple of his own team-mates have been penalised for that very recently, his bizarre decision to go down that route left me scratching my head.’
McGregor will hope his efforts in the Octagon will be the only point of discussion come Sunday morning, as he prepares for his welterweight debut.
The Dubliner is 11/8 to score a first-round KO against his American opponent, something which ‘Mystic Mac’ himself has predicted…and he’s rarely wrong.
