Johan Neeskens was one of the best footballers of his generation.
The midfielder was part of the Ajax team that won three European Cups, starred for Barcelona for five years and scored the opening goal in the 1974 World Cup final.
The Netherlands, lit up by the genius of Johan Cruyff, subsequently lost the final 2-1 to West Germany, but are remembered as one of best and most revolutionary teams ever.
Cruyff and Neeskens were reunited at Barcelona, but the latter was sold by the club president because he refused to pass him toilet paper in his moment of need, according to a new book titled Barca Inèdit.

Neeskens was just 28 in 1979, a fan favourite at the club and was part of the team that had just won the Cup Winners Cup.
But club president Jose Luis Nunez reportedly never forgot his refusal to pass him a roll of toilet paper under the stall at the Rico Perez stadium in Alicante, and was so furious he vowed to sell him at the next available opportunity.
Which he did when Neeskens left Catalonia for the New York Cosmos in 1979.
