Liverpool’s hopes of offloading Mario Balotelli have taken another hit

Gareth Makim

You can probably cross off Milan as a potential suitor.

Mario Balotelli’s loan spell at AC Milan is going from bad to worse after he was booed by the home support during last night’s Serie A fixture with Lazio.

The misfit Liverpool striker, who has done little to convince his former club to make the move permanent, scoring just once this season, came off the bench in the closing stages to a chorus of derision from the San Siro faithful.

Balotelli has been told he has no future at Anfield, leaving a move to Turkish side Galatasaray or a jump to the suddenly big-spending Chinese Super League as the only realistic avenues by which Liverpool can salvage a decent chunk of the £16million they paid for the Italy international two summers ago.
