Conor McGregor’s coach almost catches people out with April Fools prank

Tom Victor

The trick to any good April Fools prank is making up a lie with enough parts to make it borderline believable.

If you make it too ridiculous, people will see straight through it.

While anything too serious can rub people up the wrong way.

But John Kavanagh, Conor McGregor’s coach at the SBG gym, managed to pitch his gag perfectly.

After both Jose Aldo and Rafael dos Anjos pulled out of recent fights against ‘The Notorious’, the suggestion that Nate Diaz might be poised to do likewise isn’t all that far-fetched.

It certainly will have given people pause for thought, but eventually people noticed the date and time of the post.
