The director of the immensely popular 2014 release took to both Facebook and Twitter to reveal the news that the prototype script was complete.
The hashtags #NoSpoilers #NotEventheTitle suggest that the second film will have its own standalone moniker, rather than simply being named Guardians of the Galaxy 2.
Although details are still sketchy, we know all the main actors will return, and we will find out more about Star-Lord’s mysterious dad…
“It’ll answer some of the questions that were put forth in the first movie about Peter Quill’s father and who he is and what’s going on with that,” said Gunn.
“We’ll get to know some of the characters a little bit more and then we’re going to meet a couple of new characters who will be very important to Guardians movies and probably important to the Marvel Universe as a whole.”
