Jack Wilshere caught hiding behind bins after nightclub fracas

We’ve all bin there.

Jack Wilshere is not Mr Clean Cut, nor has he ever claimed to be. But on Sunday evening, emerging images of him speaking to police in a nightclub alleyway, and hiding behind bins to avoid the attention of camera-phones wasn’t the most edifying look, even for him.

The Arsenal midfielder, who still hopes to be part of England’s squad heading to Euro 2016 this summer, was involved in an altercation outside the Cafe de Paris nightclub in west London, and the Mirror obtained exclusive footage of the whole palaver.

At this stage, details are hazy to say the least. According to the Mirror report, there was allegedly a heated argument outside the nightspot involving Wilshere, and possibly even an assault.

But it seems moving the discussion into a nearby side-street (and Wilshere hiding behind bins) was to avoid a throng of on-lookers who had recognised the footballer whilst he spoke to police officers.

Police confirmed the following: “At 02:15hrs on Sunday, 3 April, police patrolling Coventry Street, W1, became aware of two groups of males involved in an altercation.

“Officers intervened and one man claimed he was assaulted. He did not require hospital treatment. There have been no arrests. Enquiries continue.”
