Audley Harrison is the latest to back Anthony Joshua for title success

AJ's time

Anthony Joshua’s fight against Charles Martin is one of the most hotly anticipated among British boxing fans.

Only one of the two will leave the ring with their unbeaten record intact, as the Watford-born fighter takes on ‘Prince Charles’ for the IBF belt vacated by Tyson Fury last year.

Joshua is looking to complete the double of an Olympic gold medal and world title, and one man who came desperately close to doing the same has given AJ his backing.

Audley Harrison, who took gold at the Sydney Olympics in 2000 but lost his only heavyweight title bout to David Haye one decade on, told Sky Sports he believes the stars are aligned for a Joshua victory.

“Each man has his own light to shine and this is AJ’s time,” Harrison said.

“It is the culmination of the journey of his validation winning the world title. But that is just the first step that he can take.

“That’s why I am right behind him; it’s such a powerful moment.”
