Donald Cerrone is steaming mad.
Cowboy stepped up. That’s all he knows.
Despite the fact that he has a June 18 bout with Patrick Côté, ‘Cowboy’ offered to fight Khabib Nurmagomedov next weekend at UFC on FOX 19 after Tony Ferguson went down injured.
With Ferguson citing fluid on the lungs, Nurmagomedov was keen on the fight with Cerrone. According to both men, contracts were drawn up. This is where their stories split.
Nurmagomedov claims Cowboy signed on the dotted line only to cite a rib injury as an excuse to pull out.
Wow. I just signed contract to fight Cowboy at 170 3 hours later he hurt his ribs and pulled out. Any other opponent for April 16 #UFCTampa

Cowboy disagrees. Strongly.
Let's be Very Very Clear I didn't pull out of a mother fucking thing. https://t.co/NV1M2PRaaG

Nurmagomedov was sticking to his guns and urging Cerrone to confirm the fight:
@Cowboycerrone just sign the contract I am waiting for you

This only seemed to infuriate Cerrone more…
I already did bitch!! https://t.co/Bienw0vhGO

It's not my fault you have been hurt for 4 years, ufc don't want you to get your ass whooped at 170! I always fight https://t.co/Bienw0vhGO

Nurmagomedov followed that up with a signed copy of his contract, to fight Cerrone at welterweight.
@Cowboycerrone I signed my contract and beat you worse than how RDA just smashed you. Don't be scared. pic.twitter.com/55f6ZpjSij

In response to a tweet from MMA photographer Cody Borak, Cerrone pointed out that the Russian would, instead, be fighting Ferguson in a bout rescheduled for May 28.
Another tweet, this time, directed at Cerrone and FOX reporter Karyn Bryant pushed him over the edge after someone asked about his supposed rib injury.
How the fuck would she know?? I'm sitting here on my couch telling you I'm 100% https://t.co/rY6nEui12A

After all of that, here’s what we can decipher:
Khabib Nurmagomedov vs. Tony Ferguson, May 28
Donald Cerrone vs. Patrick Côté, June 18
One rescheduled fight. Buckets of bad blood.
