The Grand National summed up in one debauched photo

A grand old time

Kevin Beirne

The Grand National means different things to different people.

For some of us, it means the only race a year where we talk ourselves into taking a punt, while for the more experienced better, it means handling dozens of messages from your non-racing buddies about who to back in the big race.

But if you’ve ever made it out to Aintree for the festivities, you’ll know that sometimes the racing can come second to some rather less athletic endeavours.

When you’ve won big at the gee-gees, it can be hard to resist the odd drink or two. Just make sure to keep your pants on.
